The Two Sergeants Moments Before the Aggressor Got Stunned

One senior officer who jumped to the aid of a fellow officer that was assaulted by a knifeman has been awarded the Royal Recognition for Bravery.

Sergeant Tim Ansell struggled against 27-yr-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he pressed a knife to the neck of his fellow officer Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist after a traffic accident in the area in mid-2023.

Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a Taser.

"Officer attacked," the officer was heard to say over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and dashcam footage released by the police department depicted Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a hood up, run up to Sergeant Foster from behind with a blade outstretched.

He collided with the policeman who stumbled and fell to the street, after which Sergeant Ansell intervened and struggled to restrain him to the floor although being repeatedly struck with the weapon.

PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and waited for a safe opportunity, concluding the struggle to an finish.

Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "Please provide assistance on my throat here, I've been stabbed in the neck."

Sgt Ansell suffered multiple lacerations to his throat and more wounds to his arms and body, while Sgt Foster received cut injuries.

Officials reported Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to stop his fellow officer's bleeding before emergency responders reached the scene.

The new recognition arrives after the law enforcement team were granted internal Courage Honors in fall 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional Police Federation in early 2024.

They further earned a North West Valor Recognition in July 2024.

"The actions of the entire team eventually protected each other and resulted in no bystanders experienced any wounds."

Brown was given to an indefinite hospital order in early 2024, as stated by authorities.
